Use this planning checklist before ordering a dual-fuel heat pump and furnace system for the FortisBC program announced for October 15, 2026.

Use this as a planning checklist, not an approval

For the announced dual-fuel rebate, the existing primary gas furnace must be at least 15 years old.

FortisBC has announced up to $4,000 for the residential dual-fuel path and up to $8,000 for the income-qualified path for eligible installations after October 15, 2026. FortisBC, not the contractor or this checklist, decides eligibility, available funding and final approval.
