How often should I service my boiler?

We recommend having your boiler professionally serviced once a year. This ensures it operates safely and efficiently, and can help prevent unexpected breakdowns during the heating season.

What is a condensing boiler?

A condensing boiler is a high-efficiency boiler that captures and reuses heat from exhaust gases that would otherwise be vented outside. This process makes them significantly more efficient than non-condensing models.

Can I install a boiler myself?

No, boiler installation is not a DIY project. It requires a licensed gas fitter to ensure the work is done safely and to code, and a permit from the City of Burnaby is mandatory.

What are the signs my boiler needs replacing?

Common signs include being over 15 years old, rising energy bills, frequent repairs, strange noises, and visible leaks or corrosion. If you notice any of these, it’s time for a professional assessment.

Are there rebates available for new boilers in Burnaby?

Yes, significant rebates are available through programs like CleanBC and FortisBC for installing qualifying high-efficiency boilers. These programs can help offset a large portion of the installation cost.
